Internet Startup Teams with Construction News to Give the Industry
Access to New Technology.

It seems we’ve put the days of hand shake-contracts and word-of-mouth marketing behind us. As society moves into the paperless age of information and digital communication, business savvy construction companies are learning the importance of using the internet as a valuable marketing tool.

One West Michigan company claims to have a solution to help smooth the transition for construction companies. Construction News Service of Michigan, Inc. publishes early-phase, online and hard-copy construction news, weekly. According to CNS CEO, Heather Monroe, recent discussions at ASAWM meetings regarding how to assist subcontractors in utilizing online marketing and applying best practices has led them to team up with Ascribe™; an internet-based construction project portfolio manager & online social network.

Ascribe™ went live in February of this year and can already boast more than 1,500 projects in its database, according to the concept developer, Jason Carpenter. Users can create reciprocal links from a website to add and share project-specific photography with other roles that worked to complete the project. Photos and virtual business cards for each company will appear on their sites, or the CNS & Ascribe sites.

As Ascribe™ expands their reach across the U.S.; CNS now exclusively heads the Michigan market. Visitors of the CNS website will have the ability to show off the projects they are currently working on or have completed in the past. This is a new way for construction professionals to browse projects visually, see what others are working on, or join projects that other roles have submitted. The industry as a whole is leaving their comfort zone and beginning to use the web to unlock their potential outreach to future customers--and each other.
